Match Review: Aldershot v Manchester United- Official Manchester United Website

The vultures may have been circling at Aldershot hoping a Carling Cup giantkilling could lead to talk of a crisis at United. However, Sir Alex Ferguson's side swiftly sent out a message that it's business as usual after the derby day disaster by cruising into the fifth round with a convincing 3-0 triumph.

Dimitar Berbatov and Michael Owen pressed their claims by making the most of rare starts with goals in the first half before Antonio Valencia's outstanding long-range drive ended the match as a contest. A mixture of youth and experience accounted for the Shots as easily as Leeds had been disposed of in the previous round to illustrate the strength in depth at the manager's disposal."

Match Review: Manchester United v Manchester City 23-10-11 - Official Manchester United Website

It had been billed as the biggest Manchester derby in decades, but it turned out to be a derby day to forget for the Reds as the blue half of the city celebrated an historic 6-1 victory at Old Trafford.

United started the brighter of the two teams but it was City who made the crucial breakthrough when Mario Balotelli sidefooted past David De Gea after 20 minutes. Jonny Evans’ red card just after the break made it a real uphill fight for the Reds and it got worse thereafter as Balotelli grabbed a second before further goals followed from Sergio Aguero, David Silva and twice from substitute Edin Dzeko to leave Old Trafford stunned and end United’s long unbeaten run at home.

Match Review: Otelul Galati vs Manchester United 18-10-2011 - Official Manchester United Website

"United endured a difficult night in the UEFA Champions League, needing two Wayne Rooney penalties to defeat unfancied Otelul Galati and playing the last 25 minutes with ten men after Nemanja Vidic's controversial red card.

Both Rooney's first goal and the skipper's dismissal came just after the hour mark as the Reds critically upped the ante after an uninspiring first period at the impressive National Arena in Bucharest. There wasn't a huge improvement in the second half but the English champions did just enough to claim a first win in this Group C campaign and inflict a third slender defeat on the Romanian hosts."

Match Review: Manchester United v Norwich City 1 - 10 - 2011 - Official Manchester United Website

It may be October but this was a taxing work-out in the sweltering sunshine for the champions. Anderson and Danny Welbeck finally broke down Norwich's spirited resistance and there were a couple of scares at the other end as the Canaries will feel luck deserted them at key moments.

Match Review: Manchester United Vs Chelsea 3 - Nil

Sunday January 11, 2009 history repeated itself but this time a little bit more fine for United then the previous season, last year at Old Trafford, Manchester United won 2 Nil against Chelsea but this Sunday United have raised the bar by 1 goal and 3 Nil was the score at the final whistle. The score would have been 5 Nil but due to two controversial moves (Rooney's Play On & Ronaldo's Offside) by United; the score was forcefully restricted to 3 Nil and both goals by Ronaldo were not allowed

The clash was also worth seeing because both teams were fully backed up by their complete strength and all BIG GUNS were back in action after all injuries & suspensions. The match started off in a great passion and United were on top right from the kick off and its was the fourth minute when we got to see the first booking of the match; "Frank Lampard" was penalized for raising boot at Ronaldo! United kept on targeting goal from all over but there was some LUCK factor for Chelsea which stopped the score line getting started. There were plenty of moves made by United but some got deflected and few couldn't escape from the BLUES. In 27th min Bosingwa charges in on Rooney and was booked, Just a min later the first flashpoint comes between Carvalho and Ronaldo. The defender had big handfuls of the winger's shirt as a cross came in but Chelsea got the free kick. Then the two had a word and referee Webb booked both. It was 45th min; just before the half time whistle, when VIDIC made the difference by his header and made the scoreline 1 Nil for United!

After 1 Nil down in the first half the blues tried to start off with new enthusiasms but all went in vain as United didn't let them do it for Chelsea! Deco was substituted by Anelka right from half time but couldn't proved handy for them either. United kept on making good moves especially via Park Ji Sung, Ronaldo, Evra in fact every body was taking charge and targeting the opponent's goal post. It was 63rd min when Ronaldo gave a back heel pass to Evra who didn't even take a single second to cross it in front of goal post where Rooney did the rest by cleverly taking out his leg through A.Cole's legs and just gave it a nice touch and volley went right in there! GOAL! 2 Nil for United now and Blues were loosing hope and tension was increasing at the Chelsea's Bench!

Later that half Ronaldo once again hit the net but it was not counted as the lines man declared it OFFSIDE in the 83rd min! Four mins later with Barbatov made it 3 Nil for United on the free kick by Ronaldo, Free kick was cleverly planed by VIDIC as he blocked the defense line to make way clear for Barbatov who didn't make mistake, took full advantage and put in it! Thats it ! All hopes of Chelsea fans were down to drain and as expected Old Trafford was echoing :
GLORY GLORY MAN UNITED - As THE REDS GO MARCHING UP UP UP !

Carling Cup Match Review: Man Utd Vs Blackburn

VS

Manchester United won quarter final of Carling cup on Wednesday against Blackburn Rovers. United started off in great style so did Tevez; who was looking to shatter the defense line in no time as he got offside inside 3 min! Blackburn’s start was not bad either as they got couple of free kicks as well as headed goal opportunities inside 10 min. Both teams were adopting the attacking strategy and were looking to get the lead for putting pressure on the opponent, and they made plenty of good moves but keepers were doing terrific job right in front of the goal.

It was 36th min when United got the opportunity which was fully availed by Argentinean striker Carlos Tevez. He hit a very good header to the lower right corner from the left 6 yard and scored!! which put his side with 1 Nil lead. 5 minutes later Nani doubled the lead for United with beautiful one touch forward pass by Tevez and score remained 2 Nil at half time.

As teams came back on pitch after half time Benedict McCarthy took just 3 minutes to put Blackburn back in the game. 3 minutes later i.e. in 51st minute United got a penalty kick because Andre Ooijer committed a foul on Carlos Tevez; resulted a penalty for Manchester United, and kick was taken by Tevez. Carlos Tevez placed the penalty kick with his right foot to the lower right corner and scored as Paul Robinson was nowhere near the ball. Just 3 minutes afterwards Carlos Tevez hit a very good right footed shot to the lower right corner and scored once again which made things worst for Blackburn and score line climbed to 4-1.

Then the game moved on with both of the teams starving for goals but no one succeeded until 84th min when Matt Derbyshire hit a very good right footed shot low through the middle from the centre penalty area. 5 minutes later right in the 90th minute Benedict McCarthy hit a very good right footed shot to the lower left corner from the centre penalty area and once again put his team back in the game. Though they were left with few minutes of stoppage time but still they were right back in the game and still they got the chance to drag the game in to the extra time. But, Carlos Tevez ruined the hopes of semi final for Rovers as he scored once again to make things even more worst for Blackburn Rovers.

It was actually the Tevez’s show that day who not only snatched a victory for the team but also along with the place in semi final he completed his first quadable for United. But at the end of the day United Fans has nothing else to say but “Glory Glory Man Utd”
