Match Review: Otelul Galati vs Manchester United 18-10-2011 - Official Manchester United Website

"United endured a difficult night in the UEFA Champions League, needing two Wayne Rooney penalties to defeat unfancied Otelul Galati and playing the last 25 minutes with ten men after Nemanja Vidic's controversial red card.

Both Rooney's first goal and the skipper's dismissal came just after the hour mark as the Reds critically upped the ante after an uninspiring first period at the impressive National Arena in Bucharest. There wasn't a huge improvement in the second half but the English champions did just enough to claim a first win in this Group C campaign and inflict a third slender defeat on the Romanian hosts."

Champions League: A Spicy Win - Man Utd VS Schalke [Match Review]

VS

  • Finally As Expected United has outclassed Schalke with 4 -1 winning 6-1 on aggregate. United has not only the home advantage but also 2-0 first leg win advantage. United was on top right from the start and they didn't even let Schalke settle down and think of a win while coming from behind. Some of United's Big guns were on the bench when the match started but in the 2nd half they came on the field to add salt on schalke's wounds.

Both teams tried to find the net right from the kick off but it was United's Valencia who found net in 26th min. His goal was just a start as Gibson joined him on score sheet in 31st min with a superb strike. 4 min Later Schalke's Jurado some how managed to score a goal for his team but at that stage of the match that one goal was not even enough for the hope of victory. 2-1 was the score at half time. It was Anderson who scored twice in five mins to increase goal difference. Both strikes were clean as you like and truly won the hearts of MUFC fans. Everybody played his part in united's victory.

  • Overall a great victory. United Now Snatch the CL TITLE.

Champions League: A Spicy Draw - Man Utd VS Celtic [Match Review]

VS

Wednesday November 5, A thriller for MUFC fans resulted in a 1-1 DRAW at the final whistle. Manchester United were top of the game through out the match and had complete grip of the game through out the 90 mins.

The match started off with visitors on top right from kickoff. Man Utd built a huge pressure on Celtic by shooting the ball on the goal throughout the match but unfortunately out of total 30 shots only one by Giggs was able to beat keeper.

Here are the Match Facts:

Celtic ----------------------- Man Utd

6 --------Total Shots -------- 30

3 --------On Target -------- 7

14 --------Fouls-------- 6

1 --------Offside -------- 1

26% -----Possession ----- 74%

0 --------Cards -------- 1 Y

I think Match Facts say it all, Red Devils were on top; no need to tell it. United were ahead every where except for a booking (Nani’s yellow card).

United started off in great style but it was Celtic who got the early break through in 13th min. United did not feel the pressure of the goal rather they kept on attacking as well as targeting goal from all sides especially Ronaldo & Giggs. In the 31st min Nani got yellow card which resulted his substitution at half time and with Nani’s departure another striker “Barbatov” was called to attack further. Man Utd was able to score the equalizer just before the final whistle and it was Giggs who got the eventual break through for united. After that man utd made few good tries but it was Barbatov who had the final touch of the ball just before the final whistle.

Overall the match was full of thrill and excitement for MUFC fans and that draw did not harm United’s Position in the Group E rather it has made things more critical for the home side (Celtic)

Never Mind United!
