Carling Cup Match Review: Man Utd Vs Blackburn

Manchester United won quarter final of Carling cup on Wednesday against Blackburn Rovers. United started off in great style so did Tevez; who was looking to shatter the defense line in no time as he got offside inside 3 min! Blackburn’s start was not bad either as they got couple of free kicks as well as headed goal opportunities inside 10 min. Both teams were adopting the attacking strategy and were looking to get the lead for putting pressure on the opponent, and they made plenty of good moves but keepers were doing terrific job right in front of the goal.

It was 36^th min when United got the opportunity which was fully availed by Argentinean striker Carlos Tevez. He hit a very good header to the lower right corner from the left 6 yard and scored!! which put his side with 1 Nil lead. 5 minutes later Nani doubled the lead for United with beautiful one touch forward pass by Tevez and score remained 2 Nil at half time.

As teams came back on pitch after half time Benedict McCarthy took just 3 minutes to put Blackburn back in the game. 3 minutes later i.e. in 51^st minute United got a penalty kick because Andre Ooijer committed a foul on Carlos Tevez; resulted a penalty for Manchester United, and kick was taken by Tevez. Carlos Tevez placed the penalty kick with his right foot to the lower right corner and scored as Paul Robinson was nowhere near the ball. Just 3 minutes afterwards Carlos Tevez hit a very good right footed shot to the lower right corner and scored once again which made things worst for Blackburn and score line climbed to 4-1.

Then the game moved on with both of the teams starving for goals but no one succeeded until 84^th min when Matt Derbyshire hit a very good right footed shot low through the middle from the centre penalty area. 5 minutes later right in the 90^th minute Benedict McCarthy hit a very good right footed shot to the lower left corner from the centre penalty area and once again put his team back in the game. Though they were left with few minutes of stoppage time but still they were right back in the game and still they got the chance to drag the game in to the extra time. But, Carlos Tevez ruined the hopes of semi final for Rovers as he scored once again to make things even more worst for Blackburn Rovers.

It was actually the Tevez’s show that day who not only snatched a victory for the team but also along with the place in semi final he completed his first quadable for United. But at the end of the day United Fans has nothing else to say but “Glory Glory Man Utd”

Carling Cup Nov 11: Experienced Along With Rising Stars (Youth) Helped United To Secure A Place in Quarterfinals

Tuesday Nov 11, Sir Alex’s 11 won 1 Nil against Queen’s Park Rangers here at Old Trafford. Although Man Utd was missing some of its regular players due to injuries and rest purpose, but still it didn’t led down its fans as Young Guns played really well, and were fully supported by the experienced legs at the pitch. The star of the night was Carlos Tevez; who really shattered the QPR’s defense line but was not able to beat “Radek Cerny” except for the 75^th min penalty.

There were several occasions in the match which caused excitement for the United Fans but every time either ball missed the target or keeper didn’t let it go in between the posts. It was 75^th min when United got a golden opportunity to get a lead over opponents which was fully availed by Argentine striker Tevez by scoring on a penalty kick while sending the keeper wrong way. After the goal united fans got bit relaxed; although it was not an enough lead to secure the match at that time but later it was proved enough to avoid forced extra time.

The final whistle not only declared the exit of QPR from Carling Cup but also guaranteed United’s place in quarter finals.
