Articles: Sir Alex Ferguson Says He Was Satisfied With A Draw At Liverpool - Official Manchester United Website

Sir Alex Ferguson's intricately planned tactics were scuppered by Steven Gerrard's opening goal for Liverpool, but the Boss was nevertheless satisfied with a point after his side fought back to take a point at Anfield.

The Boss revealed after the 1-1 stalemate that his plan was to nullify Liverpool's threat before pushing for a late victory, only for Gerrard to strike as substitutes Wayne Rooney and Nani were poised to join the fray.

Match Review: Liverpool v Manchester United 15-10-11 - Official Manchester United Website

Substitute Javier Hernandez came up trumps with a late equaliser at Liverpool to earn a precious point for the champions.
United were forced to come from behind and battle hard for a point after Steven Gerrard broke the deadlock with a free-kick and Chicharito's predatory header after Danny Welbeck headed on a Nani corner meant a lot more than his consolation at Anfield in last season's fixture.
The manager sprung a few surprises with his team selection with Wayne Rooney and Nani left on the bench, Phil Jones playing in midfield and Danny Welbeck starting in a lone attacker's role. Skipper Nemanja Vidic missed out despite representing Serbia in midweek.

Four United legends attended an event in Chile on Tuesday as the Latin American leg of the Champions Trophy Tour got underway.

A short advert featuring Wayne Rooney, Ryan Giggs and Patrice Evra to promote the Chilean winery's Casillero del Diablo brand was also shown.
The quartet of former Reds then opened a temporary United museum exhibition in the city's Parque Arauco, which is open to the public until 9 October.

Sir Alex hails Stoke - Official Manchester United Website

Stoke City may not be the most fashionable team in the Barclays Premier League, but Sir Alex has hailed their recent progress as “phenomenal”.

The Potters, famed for their direct and physical approach to the game, only won promotion to the top flight in 2008 and yet have never looked like relegation candidates. They’ve enjoyed 11th, 12th and 13th place finishes, reached last season’s FA Cup final and are now mixing it with some of Europe’s big boys in the Europa League.
