Tuesday Nov 11, Sir Alex’s 11 won 1 Nil against Queen’s Park Rangers here at Old Trafford. Although Man Utd was missing some of its regular players due to injuries and rest purpose, but still it didn’t led down its fans as Young Guns played really well, and were fully supported by the experienced legs at the pitch. The star of the night was Carlos Tevez; who really shattered the QPR’s defense line but was not able to beat “Radek Cerny” except for the 75th min penalty.
There were several occasions in the match which caused excitement for the United Fans but every time either ball missed the target or keeper didn’t let it go in between the posts. It was 75th min when United got a golden opportunity to get a lead over opponents which was fully availed by Argentine striker Tevez by scoring on a penalty kick while sending the keeper wrong way. After the goal united fans got bit relaxed; although it was not an enough lead to secure the match at that time but later it was proved enough to avoid forced extra time.
The final whistle not only declared the exit of QPR from Carling Cup but also guaranteed United’s place in quarter finals.
